As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead day-to-day maintenance activities, focusing on ground combat vehicles and support equipment for the U.S. Marine Corps. This role involves supervising mechanics, ensuring compliance with procedures, and implementing training requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics performing automotive mechanic duties for inspection, maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles
- Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles
- Ensure equipment readiness, manage maintenance shop organization, control maintenance assets, and provide advice on vehicle maintenance
- Ensure mechanics are properly trained in all maintenance functions
- Determine work sequence and assignment based on priority to optimize equipment, facilities, and personnel use
- Maintain inventory of repair parts and equipment, and requisition replacement stock
- Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules
- Interpret specifications, drawing, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts
- Coordinate department activities with other departments
- Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, governmental regulations, and all safety requirements
Requirements
- Ability to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship
- 8 years of directly related work experience
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment
- Completion of motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent
- Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements
- Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment
- Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline is preferred
- 8 years of directly related work experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment
