About This Role

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead day-to-day maintenance activities, focusing on ground combat vehicles and support equipment for the U.S. Marine Corps. This role involves supervising mechanics, ensuring compliance with procedures, and implementing training requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics performing automotive mechanic duties for inspection, maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles
  • Ensure equipment readiness, manage maintenance shop organization, control maintenance assets, and provide advice on vehicle maintenance
  • Ensure mechanics are properly trained in all maintenance functions
  • Determine work sequence and assignment based on priority to optimize equipment, facilities, and personnel use
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and equipment, and requisition replacement stock
  • Inspect work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules
  • Interpret specifications, drawing, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts
  • Coordinate department activities with other departments
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, governmental regulations, and all safety requirements

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • 8 years of directly related work experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment
  • Completion of motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent
  • Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements
  • Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment
  • Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline is preferred
  • 8 years of directly related work experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment
