Materials Management Technician

About This Role

The Materials Management Technician manages medical and office supplies and equipment for Kaiser Permanente facilities. This role involves ordering, receiving, inventory control, and distribution to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in controlling medical supplies, office supplies, printed materials, linen, and small equipment within a Medical Center, Campus or Administrative building
• Assist with identification of what should be in stock, organization of storage space, and maintenance of appropriate levels of stock
• Process supply and equipment orders to assure the timely receipt of goods
• Troubleshoot Materials procurement problems within the medical facility
• Assist with cost control by identifying ways to improve the Materials process
• Data enter orders and receipts into the Materials Management computer system
• Assist with central reprocessing, sterilization, and infection control processes
• Prepare and package instruments for sterilization in compliance with accepted Infection Control standards
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly handled, cleaned, and appropriately maintained
• Participate in staff orientation, MMT meetings, and education activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
• Customer service skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required

Nice to Have

• Inventory control and par stocking experience
• Sterile reprocessing and infection control experience
• Familiarity with basic office computer software
• Sterile reprocessing certification
