Massage Therapist

About This Role

Provide exceptional massage and spa treatments with professionalism and a customized approach to guests of the Spa. Contribute to the organization's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide Massage and Spa services to guests including massage, wellness therapies, body treatments, and foot soaks/treatments.
• Maintain an agreed upon retail sales to service ratio with provided products.
• Maintain an agreed upon minimum upsell percentage.
• Complete all necessary record-keeping tasks pertaining to Spa operation.
• Participate in all advanced training without exception.
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, attending to their immediate needs.
• Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout treatments.
• Maintain work area with necessary supplies, sanitation, and disinfection procedures.
• Perform monthly and quarterly deep-clean responsibilities.
• Assist with cleanliness of all spa areas including locker rooms.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English
• Valid Massage Therapy Certification from a recognized school of massage
• Insurance coverage as required to maintain massage license/certification
• Continuing Education as required to maintain massage license/certification
• 5+ years’ experience as a Massage Therapist in a stand-alone spa or luxury hotel/resort spa
• Exceptional skill in Swedish and Deep Tissue massage
• Skill in at least two of the following: Acupressure, Ashiatsu, Ayurvedic, Clinical Deep Tissue, CranioSacral, Hot Stone Massage, Lomi Lomi Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release, Neuromassage, Pregnancy Massage, Reflexology, Reiki II or Master +, Rolfing, Shiatsu, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Trigger Point Massage

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education
• 5+ years’ experience as a Massage Therapist in a stand-alone spa or luxury hotel/resort spa.

Nice to Have

• Luxury experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Advanced training in holistic and/or clinical bodywork, aromatherapy and spa/body treatments
• Strong experience in more than five modalities
• Knowledge of botanical ingredients, thalassotherapy, reflexology, Ayurveda or any holistic wellness field/modality
• Knowledge of general wellness practices such as yoga, meditation
• Advanced holistic and clinical training
