About This Role

The Manager, Data Product Engineering will lead a team of Data Product Engineers to define, build, and deliver high-value data products across the organization. This role involves active collaboration with business units to align data product strategy with overall business goals, fostering innovation and ensuring robust, accessible data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage a team of Data Product Engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Lead the development and communication of the data product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance for data product designs, championing best practices for data modeling, quality, and governance.
  • Establish and enforce robust processes for data product lifecycle management, including incident response, performance monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Manage budget allocation for the team and relationships with external vendors and technology partners.
  • Guide the team in designing and building data products that empower AI/ML efforts, ensuring clean and well-structured data for model training and inference.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field
  • Proven experience leading and managing data engineering teams, including Lead Engineers
  • Expert-level understanding and practical experience with Snowflake
  • Extensive experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing real-time data pipelines using AWS Lambda and AWS Kinesis
  • Strong command of Python for data engineering and automation
  • Proficiency in applying Kimball's dimensional modeling and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a related field, including proven experience in leading and managing data engineering teams.

  • Familiarity with other languages like Java
