Lead site-specific collective bargaining negotiations for Disney Experiences, ensuring favorable agreements align with labor strategies and business objectives. Provide leadership to the Labor Relations team and counsel to Operations and HR partners.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a role model for diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing strong day-to-day leadership to LR team members and oversight to collective bargaining agreements.
- Provide counsel and support to various Operations and HR partners relative to the administration of labor contracts, including talent development, mentorship, guidance, and training.
- Oversee 8 to 20 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) covering 47 unions, serving as a resource for contract terms to business leaders and HR Partners.
- Serve as a Company Chief Negotiator with a primary focus on collective bargaining negotiations and administration impacting bi-coastal bargaining strategy.
- Develop the strategy and execution of core day-to-day Labor Relations services including consultations, grievances, negotiations, arbitrations, effects bargaining, and Engaged Leadership Initiative (ELI) work streams.
- Ensure consistent, reliable, and seamless contract administration to build and reinforce a trust-based relationship with union leadership.
- Account for comprehensive research and advocacy regarding the Company’s response to NLRB Agency Charges by providing insight and direction to LR Team Members.
- Assist with the administration of Taft-Hartley employee benefit plans.
- Manage day-to-day team members, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, training, setting priorities, assigning work, implementing discipline, and setting/assessing goals.
- Prepare reports, using records of action concerning grievances, arbitration cases, and labor relations activities, to identify problem areas and trends.
- Drive segment-wide projects/initiatives related to core LR services.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of all labor and employment laws (NLRA, Title VII, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and state/local laws)
- Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy, and nuanced understanding of communication needs
- Ability to represent the Company in a professional manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in field of Industrial Labor Relations, Labor Law or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or equivalent (negotiations preparation, bargaining, implementation and administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements)
