About This Role

The Maintenance Technician ensures guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas are in good repair across various trades including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. This role contributes to an attractive and well-maintained hotel environment, upholding company culture and guest service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required training and adhere to standard operating procedures and brand standards
  • Perform duties as requested by management to aid in the hotel's operation and service to guests
  • Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
  • Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, grouting, and other miscellaneous items
  • Maintain a record of repairs performed, calendared, and needing evaluation
  • Inspect guestrooms, public space, and back of the house to evaluate areas for repair, touch-up or replacement
  • Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude for the operation and repair of hotel facilities and equipment
  • Ensure safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management
  • Maintain confidentiality of business functions including financial status, customer/guest information, and associate issues

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, by telephone and in person
  • Ability to report to scheduled shifts
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, stretch, and perform work for 8 hours
  • Comfortable using a step stool or ladder
  • Eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Finger dexterity for operating equipment
  • Ability to speak in a clear, understandable voice and understand English
  • Ability to write
