About This Role

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas in good repair. This role ensures the hotel remains attractive and well-maintained by performing various trade-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required training
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property specific brand standards
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests
  • Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
  • Repair or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall coverings, caulking, grouting or other miscellaneous items
  • Maintain a record of repairs performed, repairs calendared and pending, and repairs needing evaluation
  • Inspect guestrooms, public space and back of the house to evaluate for areas to repair, touch up or replace
  • Assist other department team members in the systematic application of the preventive maintenance program
  • Ensure safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets in conjunction with hotel management

Requirements

  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, stretch and lift/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work for 8 hours and in restrictive spaces/environments
  • Eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Comfortable using a step stool or ladder
  • Ability to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to handle heat and stress
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
  • Finger dexterity for operating equipment
  • Ability to speak in a clear, understandable voice and hear at a basic level
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for hotel facilities and equipment
  • Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Excellent communication skills (written, telephone, in-person)
  • Ability to report to scheduled shifts
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
