Maintenance Technician

About This Role

This entry-level Maintenance Technician will perform mechanical maintenance, inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic troubleshooting in a heavy industrial plant environment, contributing to the smooth operation of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical systems across the plant
• Assist with preventative maintenance, equipment servicing, and lubrication
• Support inspections, troubleshooting, and basic mechanical repairs
• Work alongside contractor personnel to ensure quality, safety, and productivity
• Participate in formal training, on-the-job learning, and cross-training initiatives
• Communicate with process area teams to share information and resolve issues
• Suggest cost-saving or productivity-improving initiatives when appropriate
• Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement efforts
• Work rotating shifts and weekends as assigned
• Support additional plant functions as needed
• Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and promote a strong safety culture

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Ability to comply with PPE and respirator requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• 2-4 years of industrial experience as a millwright or mechanical maintenance technician preferred

Nice to Have

• Technical college education (2 years) in a related field
• 2-4 years of industrial experience as a millwright or mechanical maintenance technician
• Experience with gearbox rebuilding, shaft alignment, and bearing installation
• Familiarity with cement plants or similar heavy industrial environments
