Maintenance Technician

About This Role

The Maintenance Technician will support plant operations by maintaining equipment readiness, performing preventative and emergency repairs, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of plant machinery. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fixed mechanical equipment, systems, and and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance following manufacturer recommendations and company procedures
• Inspect plant equipment and perform necessary repairs and adjustments, reporting findings to the Supervisor
• Perform emergency repairs to address plant breakdowns
• Maintain crushers, conveyor belts, pulleys, pumps, screens, and screen bearings
• Conduct job safety analyses before undertaking any repair or diagnostic tasks
• Walk the plant regularly to inspect mechanical equipment and systems for repair or replacement needs
• Maintain an inventory of regularly required replacement parts
• Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical repair, installation, or construction experience in heavy industry
• Working knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and general plant maintenance
• Hands-on experience with welding, cutting torch, and hand tools
• Proficient in hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to work overtime and handle physically demanding tasks
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of mechanical repair, installation, or construction experience in heavy industry

Nice to Have

• Experience operating skid steers or man lifts
• Welding/fabrication skills highly desirable
