Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on automated material handling systems within a distribution center. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system components, ensuring the efficient operation of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and routine repairs on automated material handling system components
- Respond to system issues involving conveyors, PIE, sortation and controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, and Software)
- Perform basic troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components
- Be a subject matter expert for conveyors, cross belt system, Dematic Multi Shuttle System/Goods to Person System
- Operate all material handling and mobile equipment within the Distribution Center
- Work at heights and in unusual positions
- Be available for 24-hour on-call rotation
- Apply safe work practices, lockout/tagout (LOTO) standards and Arc Flash knowledge
- Follow codes such as NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA
- Design, implement, and document PLC programming changes to automated equipment when authorized
- Troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Probus, Data Highway, and CanBus
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of building and equipment maintenance experience
- 2+ years maintaining Dematic or similar conveyor systems
- 2+ years of experience with AC drives (set-up, programming, faults)
- Familiarity with Microsoft and CMMS programs
- Experience with power distribution, power generation, control circuits, electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and gauges
- Experience reading and interpreting Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEO) drawings and schematics
- Ability to frequently lift, push, and slide packages typically weighing 50-75lbs
- Successful completion of Maintenance skill evaluation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of building and equipment maintenance with two years maintaining Dematic or similar conveyor systems
