Provide general and specialized maintenance to rental housing units, including preparing units for new occupancy and performing routine repairs in various building maintenance areas.
Responsibilities
- Respond to service requests regarding furnaces, air-conditioning systems, appliances, water heaters, solar collection, disposals, general plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
- Perform skilled work in trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or locksmith, requiring advanced knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Maintain tools and equipment, demonstrating safe and proficient operational knowledge.
- Understand and follow proper use of equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to an established preventive maintenance program for heating and ventilation systems, including filter replacement.
- Assist in the make-ready process for vacated units, including painting, sanding, floor work, tile replacement, drywall repair, and fixture repair.
- Perform emergency maintenance for issues such as sewage back-ups, water main breaks, fires, and weather-related damage.
- Ensure unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
- Drive for the company using either a company, personal, or rental vehicle to perform work duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- Advanced training or certification in maintenance, OR degree/journeyman license in building maintenance/skilled trades, OR acceptable on-the-job experience
- 5+ years' experience in residential maintenance
- Strong knowledge of Building Maintenance
- Specialized knowledge in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Appliance Repair, or Locksmith trades
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical work, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality
- Valid in-state Driver's License
- EPA certification within 180 Days
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) with advanced training resulting in a certification, or a degree/journeyman license in building maintenance, or one or more skilled trades or other related subject, or an acceptable amount of on-the-job experience in building maintenance or one of the skilled trades.
- 5+ years residential maintenance experience
