Maintenance Technician II

About This Role

The Maintenance Technician II diagnoses and repairs problems in apartment homes and common areas to maintain the physical condition of the community and ensure timely service requests. This role focuses on creating exceptional living experiences for residents through essential maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and major appliances
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company standards and in a timely manner
• Ensure vacant apartment homes are rent-ready by performing turnkey work as required
• Conduct apartment preventative maintenance
• Assist in painting both interior and exterior surfaces
• Perform Hot Works including brazing, soldering, and welding within company standards

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in maintenance work
• Knowledge of HVAC repair, Plumbing, Electrical, and General Maintenance repair work
• Ability to accommodate an on-call schedule
• Ability to communicate with associates and residents for customer service
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures (Key Control Policy, Apartment Home Turnover Policy, Maintenance Emergency policies)
• Ability to identify cleaning and chemical supplies and understand Hazard Communication Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Basic understanding of emergency systems, shutoffs, locations and sequence of operations
• Demonstrates knowledge of paint types and paint tools

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in maintenance work, including knowledge surrounding HVAC repair, Plumbing, Electrical, and General Maintenance repair work.
