The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of tasks to maintain buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds for a convent home, ensuring a clean and well-maintained environment for elderly sisters. This role will involve routine maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping to support the religious life of the sisters.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
- Maintain furnace and air-conditioner to ensure proper performance and replace filters.
- Perform routine tasks related to building repair and maintenance, groundskeeping, and moving of furniture and equipment.
- Clean snow from sidewalks and parking lots using snowplow, snow blower, and/or shovel.
- Mow lawn, trim shrubbery, and cultivate flowers using hand tools, power tools, and lawn equipment.
- Ensure all light fixtures are operational and change light bulbs as necessary.
- Interpret and investigate work orders via the work order system and perform requested work to quality standards.
- Perform routine security tours of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates for proper security.
- Observe assigned area(s) for damage and needed repairs, completing repairs within scope of abilities or notifying the Facility Manager for assistance.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of general maintenance experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of general maintenance experience is required.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of electrical wiring
- Knowledge of plumbing
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of building construction or related trades
