About This Role

The Maintenance Technician maintains amenities and apartment home interiors, including preparing apartments for new residents and performing routine repairs. This role addresses residents' customer service needs and contributes to the community's overall upkeep.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repairs including replacement of damaged floor covering, repair of walls, counter tops, fixtures, fans, windows, doors, and appliances.
  • Respond to assigned service requests to investigate and make routine mechanical repairs to damaged or broken apartment or amenity elements.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces and fixtures at assigned properties, including apartments, club house, and amenity areas.
  • Process assigned area of grounds, pick up trash, empty trash bins, and clean building exteriors and surrounding areas.
  • Clean and scrub pool and deck surfaces, and remove debris, checking and treating water with prescribed chemicals if certified.
  • Check and repair irrigation systems, rake recreation areas, and perform assigned range of preventive maintenance routines.
  • Conduct and document move-in and move-out inspections, and orient new residents in the operation of appliances.
  • Maintain property grounds and notify supervisor of safety hazards, property damage, or unsightly conditions.
  • Track and maintain status of service requests in computer system and close records for completed orders.
  • Be available for on-call duty, nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Experience with painting, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair and carpentry.
  • Knowledge to identify and address landscaping deficiencies, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and perform irrigation repairs.
  • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and solutions oriented.
  • Willingness and ability to learn industry leading technology.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
  • Prefer over one year of experience to be fully familiar with required techniques, equipment, and work routines.
