About This Role

This Maintenance Technician role is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the building at a senior living community, addressing all maintenance-related issues promptly and ensuring compliance with operating and safety standards. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, equipment, and appliances to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs
  • Ensure all repairs and service orders are completed promptly and according to operating and safety standards
  • Maintain scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance
  • Repair vacated rooms promptly to prepare for new resident move-ins
  • Ensure proper maintenance of walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in common areas
  • Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, service logs, and inventory tracking
  • Maintain positive communication with fire marshal, building inspector, and other governing jurisdictions
  • Work within the legal scope of local and state codes

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of maintenance or handyman experience in senior living, multi-apartment, or hotel setting
  • Well-rounded general maintenance skillset including HVAC, drywall repair, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, basic repairs, painting, floor care, and landscaping
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Customer service mindset
  • Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two (2) years of prior maintenance or handyman experience in a senior living, multi-apartment, or hotel setting
