Mail Room Maintenance Mechanic

About This Role

Perform daily inspections and minor repairs on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems within the Bryant Building, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role also supports office relocations and maintains the building's security system.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of Bryant Building HVAC systems and associated components, executing minor repairs as needed
• Conduct minor repairs and modifications to Bryant Building plumbing and electrical systems and other equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance on Bryant Building equipment and maintain accurate files and documentation
• Record monthly inspections of Bryant Building Life Safety components including Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lights, Exit Lights, and Fire Doors
• Inspect the interior of Bryant Building daily to ensure satisfactory janitorial service and perform minor cleaning when necessary
• Conduct daily inspections of the exterior of Bryant Building, including sidewalks, parking lots, and roof
• Assist with office relocations within the Bryant Building and FWC satellite offices in Tallahassee, Leon County
• Maintain the Bryant Building security system, including programming/deleting security access cards and maintaining communication between building systems
• Contact and schedule outside contractors for repairs that cannot be performed in-house
• Serve as the point of contact for Agency staff in the Koger Center Office complex, reporting maintenance issues to Koger Property/Maintenance staff
• Be available for On-Call assignments, responding to after-hours maintenance and emergency calls related to the Bryant Building

Requirements

• Commercial building maintenance experience (not residential property or apartment maintenance experience)
• Knowledge of principles and techniques of skilled building trades or mechanical repair work
• Knowledge of safety procedures in maintenance and repair work
• Skill in using tools and equipment in maintenance and repair work
• Ability to perform a variety of skilled trades functions
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to install, maintain and repair electric motors, generators and other mechanical equipment
• Ability to take accurate measurements
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to operate automobiles
• Ability to bend and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb to install/repair equipment
• Skills working with a personal computer
• Ability to be On-Call during an off-duty period
