Operate and maintain the gallon filler line for dairy product manufacturing, ensuring accurate production, quality control, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare each label for production and review the production schedule to determine setup needs
- Prepare the line for startup, sustain production by checking proper adjustments, bringing in film and supplies, and setting designated line speed
- Maintain constant weight control for minimal giveaway and document checks on required paperwork
- Audit, test, and record dip strength and cleanliness
- Maintain quality by observing operations, making adjustments, and troubleshooting issues
- Document actions by completing production and quality logs into the shop floor system
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and call mechanics for repairs, reporting preventative maintenance issues
- Ensure proper identification of rework barrels by attaching rework tickets
- Communicate issues or maintenance needs with relieving employees for efficient shift changeover
- Perform daily cleaning (GMP's) including sweeping, emptying tubs, removing garbage, and sanitizing
- Engage in accountability for safety and security, including peer-to-peer safety evaluations and proper PPE usage
- Submit samples for lab testing and accurately document results
- Complete production logs accurately
- Follow all company policies, procedures, GMP's, and work in a manner consistent with quality and sanitation requirements
- Maintain a safe and clean environment
- Work overtime as needed or assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to read, write, and understand English grammar
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to write legibly to complete paperwork
- Able to communicate with co-workers and team leaders
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow written/verbal procedures
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Entry level with food manufacturing experience a plus but not required
