Lecturer of Environmental Science

About This Role

Serve as a full-time Lecturer of Environmental Science, teaching undergraduate and potentially graduate courses, along with contributing to departmental and college-level service.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Environmental Science, including Introduction to Environmental Science, Environmental Ethics, and Environmental Science Senior Seminar
• Teach Environmental Science courses for non-majors, such as Science Society and the Environment I and II
• Perform service on Departmental and College level committees
• Participate in the assessment process for the B.S. in Environmental Science degree
• Provide input into the curriculum for the B.S. in Environmental Science degree program

Requirements

• Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science or closely related field (for UG teaching)
• OR Master's degree in non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in teaching discipline (for UG teaching)
• Terminal/Doctorate degree, or foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science or related discipline (for Grad teaching)
• Graduate level coursework in environmental ethics or willingness to pursue it prior to start date (for Grad teaching)

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field, or Master's degree in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline (for undergraduate courses). Terminal/Doctorate degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline (for graduate courses).

Nice to Have

• Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Environmental Science or a closely related field
• Demonstrated success using evidence-based, teaching practices at the university level
• A record of teaching environmental science or related courses
