Leasing Consultant

About This Role

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for driving leasing, retention, and occupancy for a residential community. This role promotes resident satisfaction and creates a positive experience for visitors and prospects.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospects and qualify them by asking questions and utilizing guest cards
• Prepare move-in packages and lease paperwork
• Record all telephone and in-person visits on appropriate reports and maintain guest cards
• Inspect models and available "market ready" units, communicating service needs to the Community Manager
• Assist prospects with applications and secure deposits per company and Fair Housing requirements
• Update availability reports and process applications for approval, submitting to the Community Manager
• Assist in monitoring renewals, distributing and following up on renewal notices
• Monitor advertising effectiveness and gather market competition information
• Accept rental payments and provide them to the Assistant Community Manager
• Type leases, complete appropriate paperwork, and accurately input information into the Yardi System
• Assist the management team with various other tasks as required
• Consistently implement community policies

Requirements

• Experience working with the public and/or sales
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to support and contribute to the community team
• Proficiency with telephone, personal computer/keyboard, Microsoft Office (Word, MS Outlook)
• Proficiency with community software (Yardi System)
• Positive attitude and ability to smile under all circumstances
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Two years of experience in previous relevant customer service

Qualifications

• 2 years of previous relevant customer service or sales experience

Nice to Have

• Bilingual in Spanish
