About This Role

Supervise and coordinate daily operations for a specific age group within a childcare program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children while maintaining compliance with state licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer issues relating to the center effectively
  • Communicate effectively with parents and properly with children
  • Ensure all state day-care licensing rules and regulations are followed and enforced
  • Complete 20 hours of state training annually
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Attend staff meetings and other special trainings
  • Follow and create lesson plans and carry out age-appropriate activities daily
  • Provide a safe environment for children at all times
  • Ensure rooms are kept tidy throughout the day
  • Follow correct procedures during check-in and check-out process
  • Communicate efficiently with other caregivers regarding child information and care
  • Maintain and file children's records, such as child report cards, and review them with parents
  • Maintain records of children such as accident reports and registration forms
  • Communicate with the office pertaining to revenue payments and drop-ins/early and late drop-offs
  • Provide information such as daily rates and activities to guests when appropriate
  • Change diapers and deal with bodily fluids

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Strong knowledge of childcare program development and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of Childcare Licensing rules and regulations or willing to learn them
  • Ability to be flexible and change tasks and assignments when needed
  • Enjoyment of and enthusiasm for childcare
  • Excellent team building and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate ability to act as a team player and guide others with new ideas
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to pass a background check

Qualifications

  • College degree in child development preferred, or High School education with one or more years of classroom or activity planning with children
  • 1+ year of classroom or activity planning experience with children
