Lab Technician

About This Role

Perform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations under supervision, utilizing established protocols. This role involves testing specimens, maintaining records, operating equipment, and ensuring quality control.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of reviewed laboratory procedures relevant to the particular work going on in the laboratory
• Prepare and test specimens for examination and report preliminary results to the technologist for sign-off
• Keep accurate records
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
• Ensure and maintain quality control and assurance activities
• Maintain the laboratory area in a clean and orderly manner

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field
• Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technician

• Previous experience in a medical laboratory
