Lab Assistant I

About This Role

Perform routine technical and clerical functions, including venipuncture and specimen handling, to support laboratory operations at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens
• Label tubes and specimen containers
• Collect specimens
• Perform phlebotomist duties as assigned
• Perform CLIA waived laboratory tests

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete blood draws independently within six-weeks of hire

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete blood draws independently within six-weeks of hire, preferably 6 months of laboratory experience.

Nice to Have

• Completion of a phlebotomy program
• 6 months of laboratory experience
