Kitchen Leader

About This Role

The Kitchen Leader is responsible for preparing delicious food, grilling meats, sautéing vegetables, and ensuring food quality and safety. This role involves managing inventory, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and training other Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
• Monitor food waste and inventory levels, and resolve food quality issues
• Support a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
• Develop Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
• Communicate with Crew members and customers effectively to ensure great customer service and throughput
• Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
• Monitor kitchen equipment and ensuring it is kept in good repair; make sure malfunctioning equipment is repaired as quickly as possible
• Ensure that the kitchen itself and all Crew members meet the necessary guidelines to ensure there are no injuries or accidents
• Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Inventory Rotation (FIFO)

Requirements

• Knowledge and ability to speak, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
• High school diploma
• Restaurant experience
