Junior Data Engineer

About This Role

This role involves building and maintaining data tools and products for a progressive political consulting firm. The Junior Data Engineer will focus on developing web and Python-based efficiency tools, automating AI integrations, and constructing data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal web- and python-based business efficiency tools
• Build, customize, and automate/integrate AI tools into existing workflows and implementation
• Assist in debugging and maintaining our current custom, internal product suite
• Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL, DBT, Python, and Google Cloud Infrastructure
• Develop readable, maintainable code with clear comments and documentation

Requirements

• 1-3 years practical experience with web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• 1-3 years practical experience with Python
• Strong ability to use SQL
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and experience with Google cloud systems
• Familiarity in working with GitHub/version control systems
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn and explore, AI technologies
• Experience with Google Suite and Excel
• Ability to learn new systems quickly
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Strong proactive, creative problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work campaign-style hours as necessary

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of practical, working experience with web fundamentals and Python

Nice to Have

• Familiarity and/or experience using DBT
• Familiarity using SQL in Google Big Query
• Knowledge of Algorithms
