About This Role

The Inventory Control Clerk - Intermediate maintains accurate records of materials in inventory and on order, forecasts future needs, and reconciles discrepancies to ensure efficient stock management. This role provides critical support to inventory operations within a large healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of materials in inventory and on order.
  • Provide information to determine status of current orders and forecast future needs.
  • Compile records of amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand.
  • Monitor reorder points and initiate action to replenish stock.
  • Reconcile discrepancies in inventories.
  • Notify supervisor of irregularities and when stock reaches designated reorder point.
  • Compile information on receipt or disbursement of inventories and compute inventory balances, prices and costs.
  • Operate a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent.
  • Apply some advanced skills within assigned functional area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills (active listening, written, verbal, information technology).

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an inventory control position.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Purchasing
  • Experience working within a large, complex health care setting.
  • Familiarity with UMHS Marketsite
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
