Interventional Radiology Technologist

About This Role

This role involves assisting physicians and physician's assistants with all aspects of patient care in Interventional Radiology. Responsibilities include performing procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation while providing direct patient care and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist physicians during procedures
• Communicate proper information to other staff members
• Perform IR procedures following established protocols and anticipate physician needs
• Ensure sterility and radiation safety, completing exams safely and efficiently
• Maintain par levels for essential products and stay updated on product information
• Maintain competency with existing products and understand all imaging equipment (Fluoroscopy, 3D module, Ultrasound, CT)
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, schedule downtime for repair and preventative maintenance
• Complete patient chart updates, QC, film all imaging, and complete medical coding for each procedure
• Perform daily maintenance/quality checks and organize work flow
• Actively participate in and support department quality initiatives and fiscal goals

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Registered by ARRT
• Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification (VI) completed or willing to sit for the exam within 2 years of starting
• Current experience in Interventional Radiology
• Current BLS certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Current experience in Interventional Radiology is required
