About This Role

This role offers comprehensive inpatient-based internal medicine locum work at Cowichan District Hospital, a 148-bed acute care facility in the process of expansion. It involves consultative services, directive patient care, electrodiagnostic interpretation, and participation in a paid on-call schedule for high-volume, high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities

• Participate in inpatient-based internal medicine locum work
• Provide consultative services and directive care on medical and surgical wards
• Perform electrodiagnostic procedures (stress testing, ECG, Holter interpretation)
• Perform MRP work (Most Responsible Physician) in the 7-bed ICU
• Participate in a paid on-call schedule
• Teach medical students and residents in family practice and internal medicine

Requirements

• High degree of comfort with a broad range of internal medicine problems, cardiology, and critical care
