Geriatrician

About This Role

Join the Island Health Department of Geriatrics in Duncan to provide inpatient consultation and outpatient geriatric specialized services, contributing to the expansion of Cowichan District Hospital and medical education.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consultation to patients in the Cowichan District Hospital up to 2 days per week, working with an RN functioning as a Seniors Nurse Consultant
• Work with a geriatric psychiatrist, family physicians, and local medical specialists as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Liaise with Home and Community Care teams
• Provide service as part of Geriatric Specialized Service in an outpatient setting 3 days per week
• Become involved in the design of seniors services for the expanding Cowichan District Hospital
• Participate in the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching program affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Island Medical Program

Requirements

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C.
