About This Role

Join a group of enthusiastic Emergency Department physicians at Cowichan District Hospital, working full-time or part-time shifts and contributing to medical education. The role involves managing ED and Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit patients while collaborating within a tightly knit medical community.

Responsibilities

• Work permanent full-time and part-time Emergency Medicine positions at Cowichan District Hospital
• Manage patients in the Emergency Department (average 125 visits/day)
• Oversee the Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit (RADU), supporting ED and managing short-stay patients
• Participate in teaching medical students and residents through the University of British Columbia's Island Medical Program (on specific shifts)
• Cover various shifts including Day, Afternoon, Early Evening, Late Evening, and Overnight in the Emergency Department and RADU
• Actively participate in planning for the new state-of-the-art Cowichan District Hospital

Requirements

• CCFP-EM or FRCP certification
