Instructor in Japanese

About This Role

Washington and Lee University is seeking a Japanese language specialist for a two-year Instructor position to teach all levels of Japanese language.

Responsibilities

• Teach Japanese at all levels
• Collaborate closely in a team-teaching environment
• Develop teaching materials
• Offer one course in English during the spring term
• Create opportunities for use of Japanese outside the classroom

Requirements

• M.A. or higher degree
• Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and English
• Demonstrated success teaching at the college/university level in the U.S.
• Commitment to world language instruction
• Competence in developing teaching materials
• Familiarity with language-learning technology
