Instructional Specialist/Lead Faculty -ABE/HSE/ESL/AHS/Corrections

About This Role

This role involves teaching, planning, marketing, and coordinating College and Career Readiness programs, including Adult Basic Education, High School Equivalency, Adult High School, Corrections, and English as a Second Language. It requires delivering instruction, evaluating learning, completing compliance documentation, and onboarding new students.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned classes of instruction to achieve student learning, presenting information appropriate to diverse learning styles and populations.
• Assist with planning and coordinating all aspects of the College and Career Readiness program.
• Maintain currency in content areas through appropriate professional development.
• Teach assigned classes using various instructional methods and educational software to achieve student learning outcomes.
• Assist with promoting the program internally and externally.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and scheduling part-time instructors, preparing compliance documentation.
• Assist with representing the College at professional conferences and workshops.
• Assist with monitoring policies related to the program, including instructor contracts, timesheets, and College compliance.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate records documenting student achievement, progress, assessments, and instructor reports for state performance measures.
• Assist with coordinating appropriate training and ongoing staff development for instructors consistent with adult education research.
• Assist with auditing classes and ensuring compliance as required by the Internal Audit Plan, evaluating and responding to audit concerns.

Requirements

• Prior experience teaching, facilitating workshops, training, or counseling adults
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Prior experience teaching, facilitating workshops, training, or counseling adults required.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience teaching ESL
• Experience using educational software such as Essential Education, Edgenuity, Burlington English, EdReady
• Experience in adult education
• Familiarity with state compliance requirements
