Information Technology Intern

About This Role

This Information Technology Intern role will assist in supporting the IT Department by ensuring the security and efficiency of technology operations, providing hands-on experience with user training and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the annual end-user security best practices training
• Assist with entry–level Helpdesk support needs
• Manage IT equipment inventory and asset database
• Prepare network devices for deployment at construction job sites
• Assist in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices at Corporate HQ and at job sites
• Assist in equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
• Educate end-users on cybersecurity policies and best practices

Requirements

• Current student in an accredited university working towards a technical degree
• Working technical knowledge of Microsoft and Office platform
• Understanding of TCP/IP routing/switching at Layer 2 and 3 along with related protocols
• General Network architecture best practices
• Knowledge of segmented networks (vlan tagging)
• VPN Protocols (IPsec and Wireguard)
• Knowledge of Wi-Fi systems
• Authentication and connection debugging
• Roaming optimization
• Coverage estimation
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Keen attention to detail
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
