About This Role

This Information Technology Apprenticeship provides technical assistance to the campus community, focusing on IT Service Desk Operations. Apprentices will learn to apply practical skills in developing and maintaining IT and AV systems within a university setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UITS staff to resolve technical incidents or fulfill service requests
  • Learn to perform installations and/or configurations of hardware and ensure user devices and/or AV equipment connect with network, wi-fi and associated peripherals
  • Learn to identify individual component failures and replace computer, audio, video or control system components
  • Provide technical customer service assistance while following established procedures to resolve user technical issues
  • Learn to document and appropriately escalate incidents

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • No experience required; on-the-job training provided

Nice to Have

  • Student currently enrolled seeking a degree
