This role directs information security programs and operations in security event monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence, threat & vulnerability management, and application security across Mass General Brigham. The Senior Director will set strategic direction, ensure operational needs are met, and prioritize employee wellness and professional development for the Cybersecurity Operations team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage 8-10 direct reports, including individual contributors and management
- Accountable for a significant portion of the overall Information Security budget
- Set strategic direction for the Cybersecurity Operations team in collaboration with the CISO
- Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs and promote a culture of employee wellness and professional development
- Direct the development and implementation of strategies and technologies for continuous monitoring and detection of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities
- Oversee the threat and vulnerability management program, including assessments, penetration testing, and remediation
- Direct engineering efforts across the toolset supporting Cybersecurity Operations
- Direct the creation and operationalization of processes for threat & vulnerability remediation and incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks in on-premises and cloud environments
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of cybersecurity controls and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- 5+ years leading cybersecurity teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with a broad range of cybersecurity tools and technologies
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience building highly-capable teams (strategic hiring, retention, staff development)
- Strong knowledge of relevant cybersecurity frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years leading teams
