Imaging Tech Assistant - X-Ray

About This Role

This role supports radiology technologists, nurses, and radiologists by providing patient care and assisting with imaging procedures within the Christiana Hospital Radiology Department. The position plays a vital part in preparing imaging rooms, managing supplies, and handling administrative tasks to ensure efficient departmental operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with escorting patients to and from imaging departments
• Prepare imaging rooms for procedures and ensure quick turnaround for high volume
• Answer and respond to routed calls in a busy environment
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Order supplies for the imaging department
• Use imaging supported software such as Power Chart, Soarian, PACS, and other Cerner products
• Request and obtain medical records for patient exams
• Schedule routine and complex imaging procedures
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by supervisor
• Handle patient callbacks relaying information per provider direction
• Push previous ChristianaCare studies to PACS for radiologist review
• Respond to requests for urgent or emergency cases in coordination with technologists
• Operate computer systems and office equipment safely

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Two years medical environment experience

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Two years related to medical environment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
