HVAC Technician

About This Role

Maintain and repair HVAC and related facility systems to support 24/7 operations at a high-volume diesel engine manufacturing plant. The role involves multi-craft tasks, preventive maintenance, and responding to plant emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Train and respond to plant emergency issues within PEO guidelines
• Maintain all facilities HVAC and HVAC facilities service and Utility systems
• Perform multi-craft tasks associated with HVAC maintenance
• Participate in preventive maintenance and duties such as filtration system changes, greasing and oiling of motors, gears
• Inspect and adjust belts and pulleys
• Replace bearings and perform other building, system and equipment repairs
• Handle preventive maintenance and equipment downtime situations and procedures
• Identify the root cause of problems and countermeasures to prevent recurrence
• Perform repairs to and PM’s on pumps, conveying systems, piping
• Lead daily turnover meetings and make necessary log entries
• Maintain positive customer and employee relationships
• Respond to customer calls

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent
• Universal certification required under section 608 of the Clean Air Act from the State Board of Refrigeration Examiners
• Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals)
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to operate a forklift
• Able to operate man-lifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
