HVAC Designer

About This Role

As an HVAC Designer, you will assist engineers in developing high-quality detailed design documents, ensuring effective coordination within an integrated project team and providing essential field support.

Responsibilities

• Assist responsible engineers in development of high-quality detailed design documents
• Effectively and cooperatively work as a team member of an integrated project team
• Assist multiple engineers utilizing sound time management
• Perform routine field walk downs in existing plant facilities
• Provide field support to craft personnel
• Develop drawings (V&IDs, AFD, HVAC Plans, sections, details)
• Coordinate with engineers in other disciplines
• Evaluate designs for interferences with other engineering disciplines
• Coordinate with AE firms
• Provide multi-discipline 3D modeling clash detection

Requirements

• Technical expertise and proficiency with CAD design using MicroStation
• Experience in 3D drafting and modeling for multi-discipline projects
• Familiarity with design and drafting techniques
• Ability to layout drawings and provide simple details with minimal direction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited program
• At least 4 years of related experience, or twelve or more years of education, training, and/or progressive experience

Nice to Have

• Experience utilizing point cloud files and clash detection
• Relevant experience in HVAC design and 3D modeling
• Experience in Revit and Smart Plant
• Experience working with point clouds and 3D modeling software for multi-discipline projects
• Familiarity with Trane Trace (or similar programs)
• Experience with electrical, civil, piping, architectural or structural disciplines
• Ability to work in a project team environment and communicate well with other disciplines, customers, and stakeholders
• Ability to follow procedures and work within a rigorous work process
• Demonstrated technical capabilities and work ethic
• Good written and oral communications skills
