Business Analyst

About This Role

This role provides primary financial support by performing budget planning, cost analysis, monitoring, and reporting for programs, projects, and divisions. The individual acts as the primary financial representative within their work group, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform budget planning, estimating, cost analysis, monitoring, and reporting, along with variance analysis and other program/project and/or division control duties
• Enter and/or ensure cost estimates are complete and comprehensive for assigned programs or organizations during the Annual Controlled Baseline process
• Ensure cost estimate changes submitted in Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) are accurate
• Develop specific resource demand needs for each period and future year workload schedule for program support
• Reconcile resource availability in comparison to program mission demands for organizational support
• Enter and/or validate the Estimate at Completion (EAC) for each assigned project
• Analyze financial transactions for appropriate charging and request necessary corrective actions
• Maintain status of all budget and financial deliverables and objectives
• Analyze funding availability and budget usage, and keep management apprised of fiscal status
• Develop and/or generate reports and graphs that enable management to make decisions regarding financial direction

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance
• US citizenship
