Business Analyst II

About This Role

This Business Analyst II role supports a large logistics and transportation organization by optimizing freight movement and pricing strategies. The individual will translate complex data into actionable insights, build dashboards, and provide recommendations to business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, systems, and data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to support operational and pricing decisions
• Partner with product managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to define requirements and success metrics
• Write clear documentation outlining user needs, system functionality, and process flows
• Perform ad hoc analysis using Excel, SQL, and BI tools to support time-sensitive business questions
• Support development or enhancement of reporting tools and analytical solutions
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise manner

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role
• Advanced Excel skills (large datasets, formulas, pivot tables)
• Experience building dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar BI tools
• Foundational to intermediate SQL skills for querying relational databases
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical or analytical outputs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting logistics, transportation, supply chain, or pricing teams
• Exposure to product or technology-driven environments
• Experience working with large, complex datasets in fast-paced organizations
• Power Query or macros experience
