This Human Resources Advisor role partners with HR Centre of Excellence teams to provide professional services and advice to store management, acting as a consultant on HR-related issues. The position serves as an employee champion and change agent within a fast-growing supermarket chain.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and administer the full talent acquisition cycle for designated stores, working with the Talent Acquisition team
- Organize/host periodic staff forums, consolidate meeting minutes, and maintain communication with stakeholders, working with the Employee Relations team
- Support employee grievance, disciplinary, commendation, and no-show case handling
- Deal with workplace health and safety issues, including inspection, injury reporting, claim management, and return-to-work
- Support the administration of various employee benefits plans/programs, performance review, salary review, attendance, and leave, working with the Compensation & Benefits team
- Provide and verify data required for payroll processing
- Keep track of and follow up on employee performance evaluation, contract and work permit expiration, and employee movements
- Answer employee inquiries related to human resources issues and support filing of benefits claims, W2, etc.
- Maintain proper filing of human resources related documents and support employees/management in using the HR system
- Ensure human resources policies are properly understood and adhered to, providing guidance and interpretation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or related disciplines
- 3+ years of human resources experience
- Working knowledge in multiple human resources disciplines (talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, employee relations, diversity & culture, performance management)
- Good knowledge with provincial employment legislations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Good Microsoft Office 365 skills (Words, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources management, or related disciplines
- At least 3 years of work experience in human resources, with human resources generalist experience an advantage
Nice to Have
- Experience as a human resources generalist
- Knowledge of Chinese
