About This Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will strategically align HR solutions with operational goals for Retail and Back Office teams, focusing on employee performance, engagement, and retention. This role involves serving as a trusted advisor to leadership, managing employee relations, and leveraging HR technology to drive actionable growth strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to Retail Branch and Corporate Office Leadership, providing guidance on workforce planning, team dynamics, employee relations, and staffing challenges specific to financial services.
  • Apply a consultative approach to diagnose business challenges and deliver tailored people solutions, influencing decision-making to drive organizational change.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing coaching on conflict resolution, conducting thorough investigations, and advising managers on performance interventions and disciplinary actions.
  • Utilize engagement software (e.g., Culture Amp) to interpret engagement data and work with leaders to translate survey results into actionable initiatives to improve employee experience and retention.
  • Facilitate a culture of continuous feedback by leveraging performance management software, coaching managers on setting goals and conducting impactful performance conversations.
  • Effectively utilize the full HR technology stack to extract data-driven insights, streamline people processes, and ensure successful adoption of HR tools.
  • Ensure all people-related practices comply with labor laws and credit union regulatory requirements, maintaining current knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence all levels of leadership and build internal and external networks.
  • Support HR related projects as needed to support business lines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with 3+ years in a dedicated HR Business Partner role
  • Direct experience working with Culture Amp and Quantum Workplace (or similar platforms)
  • Proven track record of supporting diverse teams across retail and back-office environments
  • Strong ability to build trust with employees at all levels
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Oregon and Washington state leave laws (Paid Leave Oregon, WA PFML, FMLA)
  • Current knowledge of federal and state employment laws including EEOC, ADA, Title VII, and wage/hour regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence all levels of leadership
  • Proven problem-solving and organizational consulting skills
  • Experience serving as an administrator in various HR systems (Engagement, Performance Manager and/or HRMS Platform)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a dedicated HR Business Partner role.

Nice to Have

  • Previous HR Business Partner experience in a financial services institution
  • PHR certificate
