Housekeeper

About This Role

Perform cleaning duties in apartment homes, common areas, and offices within a senior living community to ensure a clean, orderly, and sanitary environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices
• Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
• Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary
• Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
• Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
• Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick-up areas
• Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
• Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use
• Report any needed repairs, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred
