Housekeeper

About This Role

Perform cleaning duties in a senior living community, ensuring all areas are neat, orderly, and sanitary. This role involves maintaining common areas, resident apartments, and handling community laundry.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices
• Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
• Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary
• Scrub bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
• Maintain equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
• Collect trash and refuse from work areas and place in designated pick-up areas
• Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
• Maintain the commercial laundry in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
• Ensure cleaning chemicals are kept stored and locked when not in use
• Ensure cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards are kept out of the way at all times, not blocking exits and in compliance with fire codes
• Report any needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Demonstrated interest in working with a senior population
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous housekeeping experience
