Hospital Operator

About This Role

This role is responsible for answering and routing incoming calls for the hospital, managing emergency lines, and providing accurate patient information while upholding privacy and confidentiality policies.

Responsibilities

• Answer main number and patient information calls in a timely fashion, exhibiting strong customer service skills.
• Implement code protocols accurately as written in the department Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Monitor all emergency devices and alarm systems, notifying appropriate personnel when activated.
• Maintain up-to-date databases and on-call schedules to provide requested information accurately and efficiently.
• Demonstrate a courteous and friendly manner when assisting callers, adhering to Hospital's policies.
• Document and maintain code logs in Excel spreadsheets.
• Participate in establishment and achievement of department goals.
• Assist co-workers and/or accept additional assignments as requested to support departmental efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a switchboard, direct customer service, or guest services position
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or Equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months’ switchboard, direct customer service or guest services position

Nice to Have

• Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese
