About This Role

This Student HealthCare Intern role at Nuvance Health offers an educational and training-based experience for high school students. Interns will learn about entry-level healthcare positions and may specialize in areas such as Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technician, or Dietary Aide.

Responsibilities

• Attend all required training sessions, arriving on time for class, shift, or shadowing.
• Participate fully in training and shadowing experiences with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Engage in the training plan and carry out learned tasks appropriate for the position.
• Deliver safe, direct care to assigned patients under preceptor supervision, maintaining a safe environment.
• Train and work within hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families.
• Assist in maintaining, supporting, and implementing Nuvance Health mission and goals.
• Participate in good communication, listening attentively to co-workers, patients, and families.
• Ensure commitment to the protection of co-workers' and patients' rights to personal and medical privacy.
• Recognize, value, and respect the diversity of co-workers, patients, and customers.

Requirements

• Current student in junior or senior year of High School or Technical School
• GPA of 3.0 or above
• Ability to read and write in English
