About This Role

This role is responsible for accurately assembling, packaging, and delivering patient orders, including medical supplies and equipment, to residential homes. It requires adherence to regulatory standards and customer-friendly service during delivery, setup, and retrieval.

Responsibilities

  • Pick, pull, and pack items required to fulfill patient orders for home delivery
  • Perform and provide delivery, set-up, and retrieval service in the home care setting for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Transport medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical supplies and equipment to patients' homes according to a prearranged schedule
  • Assist patients in securing pharmaceutical, medical supplies, and equipment within the home adhering to appropriate storage guidelines
  • Demonstrate competent adherence to regulatory standards for transport and infection control of patient home inventory
  • Inspect, maintain, set-up and provide instruction for durable medical equipment to ensure adherence to regulatory standards
  • Assist in acquisition and maintenance of appropriate inventories of pharmaceuticals and other medical/surgical supplies and equipment
  • Assemble medical/surgical supply kits, select, package and label order packages or containers readying them for shipment/delivery
  • Documents daily delivery/mileage data
  • Performs vehicle checks against standard requirements; ensures vehicle is clean

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record
  • Valid chauffer's license with less than six points for moving or other violations within 60 days of hire
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of safety precautions to be followed while operating a motor vehicle
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and conflict resolution skill
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
  • Functional visual acuity and hearing
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Entry level. Two years' experience as a Home Care Service, Respiratory, or Pharmacy Technician or equivalent experience may be required.

Nice to Have

  • A minimum of one-year experience in patient care activity with a demonstrated knowledge of regulations, standards, and guidelines applicable to pharmacies
  • Experience in the health care field and/or equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician or medical assistant
  • Computer / keyboard data entry skills and experience
  • Delivery experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Forklift Operation certification
  • Valid CDL with hazardous materials endorsement (may be required)
