About This Role

The Diesel Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on all company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. This role involves completing routine maintenance tasks and assisting drivers with vehicle issues in a 2nd shift position in Chattanooga, TN.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Move company equipment safely on yard as needed
  • Assist drivers with addressing outstanding vehicle issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery
  • Complete daily checklist as required
  • Assure that Equipment is properly parked/secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements
  • Maintain facility via housekeeping duties

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment
  • 1+ years DOT inspection experience
  • Must provide own basic tools
  • Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years prior experience working on heavy duty-trucks and equipment and 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.

Nice to Have

  • Related mechanical certifications preferred
