Head Cashier

About This Role

Serve as a Head Cashier at Lowe's, providing excellent customer service, monitoring self-checkout registers, handling sales transactions, and supporting front-end associates. You will ensure efficient and accurate processing of sales, returns, and customer orders while maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and identify customers needing assistance at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
• Approach and interact with customers to proactively recommend products and services
• Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
• Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
• Seek out customers to understand their needs and assist in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
• Listen to and respond knowledgeably to customer and employee questions
• Use a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds
• Provide proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates for register activities
• Supervise, coach, and support the CSA Front End Team (Front End/Loaders)
• Prepare the register area at the beginning and end of shift by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages
• Monitor merchandise entering and leaving store entrances and exits, assisting customers or associates triggering alarms

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of computer experience, less than 1 year of common retail technology experience, 1 to 2 years of retail cashier experience

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
• Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
