About This Role

This specialist position oversees the graduate assistantship program and provides essential support to graduate students, ensuring their smooth progression through academic programs at Kennesaw State University.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the graduate assistantship program, including student hiring, guideline communication, qualification verification, and preparing performance reviews.
  • Analyze and prepare reports related to graduate assistantship activities.
  • Manage GA budgets, handle student funds records, and verify allocations under Dean's oversight.
  • Facilitate the student hiring process, serving as a liaison between hiring units, the graduate college, and HR.
  • Collaborate with academic units, HR, Registrar, Bursar, procurement, and travel offices to support students and manage budgets.
  • Serve as a primary counselor for students and faculty in assigned programs, offering individual guidance and form submission assistance.
  • Communicate with academic colleges regarding allocations, policies, and processes.
  • Manage the graduate student OSTW process.
  • Assist with processing various forms related to the graduate student life cycle, from enrollment to graduation, ensuring accurate data.
  • Collaborate with other graduate college staff to organize, design, plan, and deliver workshops for graduate students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
  • Three (3) years of related work experience in a higher education environment, preferably in a student support role

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • 3+ years of related work experience in a higher education environment, preferably in a student support role

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree from an accredited university of higher education in a related field
  • Experience utilizing a CRM Target X/Salesforce
  • Experience with Banner, OnBase, Degreeworks, SAS, or other student data systems
  • Experience creating and managing orientations, virtual and in-person
