GMP Operations Cleaning Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise and manage a union cleaning staff to ensure the sanitization of controlled GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) areas, maintaining sanitary conditions for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This role involves adherence to internal procedures, protocols, and cGMPs to prevent microbial contamination.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight to the union cleaning crew (8-18 staff)
• Perform cleaning activities as needed
• Train new staff on cleaning procedures
• Ensure technicians adhere to SOPs and established cleaning practices
• Provide technical, quality, and compliance guidance to the cleaning crew
• Review all documentation for adherence to Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Review, verify, and archive cleaning logs for client Quality
• Verify proper sanitization disinfectant rotation and usage for each assignment
• Complete required GMP documentation to ensure accurate record maintenance
• Oversee waste disposal from GMP manufacturing process area receptacles daily
• Ensure adequate general sanitization supplies are available and organized
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, GMP Operations Manager, and Quality teams on cleaning schedules
• Participate in required training on sanitization disinfectants and equipment
• Follow cGMPs as outlined in 21 CFR Part 211
• Pass a gowning qualification test to enter and sanitize GMP process rooms
• Act as backup to other Supervisors and perform other related duties as assigned

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to read, write, and understand documentation in English
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships
• Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and company policies
• Attention to detail
• Excellent attendance record
• Ability to follow work instructions
• Must pass a gowning qualification test

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
